Does any one use these and how well do they work?

Idgy,

I've had mine for about a year and a hlaf now and like it. No issues so far (knock on wood) and it appears to do it's job well!

I have debated on these and am still considering one. I beleive the problem people have with them is based on the power of the pump. The stronger the pump the faster is switches I beleive, so make sure you get the right pump.

i've been using mine for about a year and a half. no problems.
brad is right, your pump output will dictate how fast it cycles.
i run a mag12 through mine and it cycles about every five seconds.
you can also count on the scwd reducing the output of your pump so you may need to get a slightly larger pump.

Here is a link to a thread that shows a scwd on a closed loop: Help with flow

The only problems I have read about....were SCWDs that quit switching due to build-up. Periodic soaking in a vinegar solution seems to help, in some cases.

I have one too...and when I bust it out of the box I have it in and set it up I guess I'll find out if it works..... :D. I've heard good things, I just have a space issue with my sump (also wrapped in plastic) so I haven't set it up in my return.
