Wanted to know if anyone out there has any input on this skimmer before I purchase it. Or another GOOD hang on skimmer??????

Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would pass on it. How about a Coralife Super Skimmer? I have two of them, one for my 65 and another for my 20 nano, I have been really happy with both of them. The 220 version was $170 and the 65 was $80, great skimmers for the money.

Here is a picture of what my CSS 220 pulls out of my 65G tank. This stuff is like coffee and stinks.....my wife lets me know when I need to dump it :)

The one pictured is the 220 model, the largest one they make. I guess it's rated for 220 gallons, but I highly doubt that would be sufficient for a tank that large. I would guess the 220 wouldn't have any problems on a 125 gallon tank, but it all depends on stocking. I would just get the largest skimmer you can fit on your tank. Check out www.bigalsonline.com for the best prices that I've found (I've ordered both of mine from them). If you do want to go with the CSS, make sure you get the needle wheel version. Let me know if you have any other questions about them.

I'd skip the seaclone and put the money towards a better skimmer. The AquaC remora is an excellent hang-on and many like the CPR BakPak, both have good reputations.

seaclone's are decent, but not good compared to css, i have the 220 and it takes out more then 8x the amount i got with a seaclone 100, given it's rated for a bigger tank, but i'd go with the 65 or 125 over the seaclone 150 plus they're pretty close in price i believe

hey now, petsmart sells IO and not oceanic, at least i don't think.... i'm oceanic user, i've also seen a petco selling live rock, my heart almost stopped, and they sold it price per piece and not by weight

IO and carbon are Petsmart's best products for the saltwater hobby:D

IMO, the only stuff they should sell.

LOL...I just remembered one more thing though...All Glass Aquariums. Can't forget them...Do you think Petsmart or Petco will ever sponsor RF?:p

ya, i was just teasing, i just use oceanic since i've always gotten a better deal on it for $ per gallon's worth of salt, ya, stick to dry goods on the petco/mart, you can't argue with their prices on tanks, food and that sort of stuff, though just know what you're buying, but anyways back to the seaclone...

Really appreciate all the input and it sounds like the Coralife is a really good one and I will look into it for sure. Thanks again,

Just wanted to say thanks again. i have a 75 gal and I went with the Coralife NeedleWheel 220 so that should be awesome especially since I am upgraded from a POS Red Sea Prizm Deluxe...I hate LFS...
Thanks again,

No problem at all. There are a few quick tricks that help the skimmer so post here or PM me once you get it. The instructions are wrong in a few places which can lead to an overflow.

ya, mine overflowed today, i think cause something must have gone through the overflow like a snail, i need to get the grating, just got to watch out for that back pressure

I will definately post when it arrives. I really appreciate all of your help!!!
Thanks and I will chat with you once it arrives.
