I recently aquired a Seahorse tank. I have two that would be perfect candidates. One is a tank that I inherited from my Dad. Its a 2.5 gallon tank. I wanted to use it for Dwarfs.

The other is a Tall tank less than 30 gallons. I was thinking Erectus Seahorses.

I am covering both heaters with pipes to prevent Seahorses from being injured.

I have been reading about Seahorses since the PSAS Meeting at Seattle Aquarium.

Who else is in the hobby that can give me some ideas or possibly sell me some livestock?

Thanks in Advance,
Ed:)

If he doesnt reply, send TWallace a PM. He has a very nice little 20 long with a pair he set up a year ago.

Gary, gas4544 is also setting up a seahorse tank. I know he's been working on it for a while. Good luck! I'd love to have a seahorse tank someday! We were at the point defiance zoo this weekend and I always love the seahorse exhibit there.
At sealifeinc.net they have dwarf seahorses for 6 dollars, and i've seen black and orange ones there too, reidi (sp?) i think. i've heard really good things about this site.

I am considering it, but have only began to do my research. I will be following along on whatever you learn and share. It would probably be sometime next year before I was ready to set-up.

I have a 29 gal glass tank I'd like to setup for seahorses and pipefish, but my husband says no. So that project will have to wait a while.

There's tons of good info on the web about them though. I thought I read that they have to be in lower temp tanks around 72 degrees or they will get infections and die. I'd double check on that though as I know nothing about them.

I remeber seeing this guys for sale post looks like he has an amazing success and breeds some nice seahorses

...raising seahorses, so I'm preparing to switch my coral system over. I've got lots of Acro and Pocillapora frags I need to get rid of.
Examples, all shot with no flash under 10k, 250Watt halides.

I can't ship any of this stuff, but I can set up appointments. I'm in Ballard, please PM me if you'd like to see these animals in person.
