I don't recall it mentioning corals in Puget Sound...just eelgrass and sponges. The cold water corals I've heard about are way out in the North Pacific, somewhere around the Bering Sea. In any event, they'd probably be pretty hard to keep.
 
PNW deep water gorgonian that was brought up with some fishing nets off the WA coast. The base was bigger than my wrist - I'm 6'6" and 230lbs. The folks at NOAA we spoke to were pretty interested... Thing was massive... and likely ancient.

Impressive, thanks. I don't think there are any corals in the Sound...they're all way offshore. To collect one intact and alive would be very difficult without damaging the sea floor, and keeping it alive would also be very difficult...best left to a professional aquarium.
