I don't think it would be a good idea to use live minnows. I really think steve would know best on this one. I would use scallops before i bought fish froma bait shop. JMO

ok I can understand that but up her scallops aren't cheep. is there anything else tht might a good idea?

Find someone that will send you frozen silversides, it's really best. Otherwise, stay away from sharks and eels.

darklcd, try this article. It's not indepth but will help.

I would really suggest a trip to the library if you seriously want to keep these kinds of sharks. For their diet, do not rely soley on fish, wrong kind of fat long term. In the wild they actually eat little in the way of fish flesh. Rely moreso on worms and crustacea/bivalves. Just be sure anything freshly caught/purchased in frozen for several weeks before use. Never feed fresh anything as it may contain parasites. It's very very important that the diet be well balanced and fortified. Goiter is a very common problem among captive animals like this.

remora

ttry a remora, they are perty cool and though they dont look like your averge shark they are really easy tto keep and have great personalitys.

port jacksons are awsome sharks i could catch u one at the beach how much would u pay for them over there their like 55 bucks here

Unless a very large system, I would not suggest Heterodontus portusjacksoni. It grows far too large to be a long lived manageable captive species. Stick to shark species that near 3 ft or less and be sure to look into the tank size recommendations I keep suggesting!!
