after reading this post and having it remind me about the sea shepard.
extremist group nutjobs came to mind.....

then I thought of "us" saltwater hobbist
for some reason extremist nutjobs came to mind again... I mean who else would spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on a 1/4" x 1/4" speck of "rock" because it pretty. The only thing I can think of that even slightly comes close is wedding rings.

go figure, crazy in our own way I guess.

A little more on topic, I did watch a few episodes of whale wars this last season. I saw the commercial with one of there boats sinking and I just couldn't miss it.

at the risk of being a little political... you may want to rethink you position on the sea sheperds... if you like having a fish tank, we are in their sights as well

I skimmed that article and don't have time to fully engage in an in-depth discussion about the env'tal impact of our hobby (which I think is substantial) but suffice it to say for now that after wrestling with the decision about whether to start a tank at all, I finally decided to go ahead but in the most env'tally responsible way I could think of (see my posts under 'Sustainable Aquarium Keeping?' for details), and that whatever you think of the Sea Shepherd's tactics, you have to admit that they're very effective in exposing the cruel and wholly unnecessary practice of whaling & dolphin-killing.
