I just wanted to give a shout out & a really BIG thank you to reefers lvsuckerfish & workaholic for all your help getting my new tank set up. You guys went out of your way to help me & now I have the start of a beautiful new reef tank. For everyone else, here are some pictures of it... 92 gallon corner tank with built in overflow, 2 250 watt metal halides & 2 100 watt blue & white CF's, 4 chamber sump with berlin skimmer, all my critters & LR from my old tank, DIY stand... will try to add more pictures as things progress but so far so good. Thanks again guys, I could not have done it without you!!!

Nice!! That light fixture is sweet too. Way to go on the ones that helped too too. Its good to have people look out. Looks Great.

yep, looks good! nice rock-work!

a couple suggestions for you...

I would get a couple of those DJ power strips for all your power cords,
and maybe even a rack mount box to put the dj power strips in along with your m.h. ballasts, then a $10 clip fan inside the box and your done.

and of course...
at your soonest convenience, I would consider replacing that truely horrible skimmer. you can get a skimmer with about triple that power for $150-300

even better:

http://www.shop.reeffiltration.com/product.sc?productId=21&categoryId=2

there are better, but those are the best of the less expensive skimmers, and are heads and tails above a berlin skimmer....(15 yr old technology, & horrible design).

Hey Rachel,

How are all the corals responding to the different lighting. good or are they retracting at all and now we can see what the. sps that was growing under the pc bulbs is it looks like it will be a gem when it grows out.

Everything is ok with the new lighting but I have it pretty high up right now & am alternating the lighting (adding gradually during the day) so that for the first few days everything gets used to the metal halides. I am so in LOVE with the shimmer that the halides give the tank. I have finally moved on up in the world! He he he.

I do have a question about the ballasts but think I will post it seperate...

I'm glad you were able to find some help.

There are some outstanding people around here.:D

I have been reefing for 1 1/2 years so I think that still kinda makes me a newbie! I am definately just getting my feet wet with hard corals since I have only done softies up until now :) Having fun though!

What is that bright yellow fish that you have in your second picture? its pretty, but i just cant tell what it is from that pic

Yep, lemon peel angel & so funny, I have 2 angels in there & they LOVE eachother. People have told me you cannot keep 2 together but I have the lemon peel & a coral beauty that actually swim & play together.
