Show me your Ricordea

Hey guys I've been dying for this thread to come up, but embarrassed that my own collection is a little slim. SO HERE WE GO!

macrics.jpg

These are mine, the blues and blue greens on the front right are heading to Colleen and Shilo's tanks.

Let's see those Ricordea. I love 'em and I'd love to see some of yours.
Robz you better get in on this one!

Eric, you souldn't be embarassed about anyhting in your tank! Besides you have way too many things to Actually be embaressed about! like that night at O'Shea's Easy Street a couple weeks ago! Oh wait a minute, some of that was my fault!

Why whatever do you mean Dan ?

By the way can't do Dead Fish Friday this week, sister is getting hitched... I should have had her plan it around my reefing schedule. Now I'm missing Mike's aquascape-a-BBQ and Dead Fish Friday.

OMG!!!! Playa... can I buy or trade some? I have zenias.... deng... those are awesome....

What is your light configuration...?

Was up Cesar? Thanks a lot:)

Maybe someday we can work out a trade Cesar. I have 3x400 watt radium bulbs and 3x5' URI VHO super blue actinics.

Here is the only yumas I have on one of the pictures.

I'll join in. I only have this one variety, but I am always on the lookout for interesting/brilliant ricordia. I saw a red one online at Frags.com, it was amazing-though a year out of date :(

I have to admit to not knowing what distinguishes a ricordia as a "yuma" variety, any easy definitions?

Elmo I have had it since last November. Red Gonioporas do a lot better than the green species. I have heard of some that have lasted for many years.

Mark your ricordias/mashrooms are really beautiful and in all honesty I cant even tell what kind they are. I normally have little difficulty telling between a yuma or a caribean ricordia. Your species must be some sort of pacific awesome shroom. Have they always been the same color? How long have you had them and do you have other pictures of them please?

Luis

This is all I could find on it:) It has not been photographed very much I guess. I will keep looking for a better picture of it.

more pics of rics

thanks! Yeahm they have always been the same color. I started off with 3, then got as many as six, then one fell face down in a big yellow turbanaria (sp?) that I had, and one I gave to plumber bob. so I still have the four and they get BIG. one must be 5-6 inches across when fully extended. here are some pics for you.

The Pacific R. yuma generally has a white stripe or at least some white shading on the cap...but not always. They also can be quite nasty to other corals that touch them, more so than the Atlantic variety, IME

I just wish I can buy some from you guys... Those are FANTASTIC!!! Just one small polyp will do.... :(
