Sick Plate Coral?

I got a plate coral about 2-3 weeks ago from a LFS, and it looked like this:

More recently it looks like this:

Its like it's skeleton is poking through and there are squiggly things on it.

It started to look better like it was healing but now there's a new little spot with skeleton poking through.

Is it dying slowly or something?

Current might be too strong. plate corals skeleton is very sharp the skin will literally just peeled right off if the current is to strong in that area. in the photo i think your plate looks okay maybe a lil irritated judging by the mucous.

Kinda hard to tell But the height of the coral looks allot taller- Have you fed him small pc's of silversides or other meaty foods. If you use a turkey baster and lightly puff around it does the exterior change. It almolst looks like it caught a tiny fish or sompthing and ate it then expelled the waste only th water flow is so slow it did not move away from it's sides. But that would change over a few hours.

Have you stressed it by say trying to adjust you alk up and maybe went to fast?

Did sompthing lean up against or touch it for a while like another coral that got moved by a fish or sompthing?

I see the first picture shows a small amount of waste on the bottom around it. so maybe the flow on the bottom is low I am thinking?

Just guesses without knowing more !

I'd get it quarantined if possible. just to be safe.....
