Does anyone know what Silicone is used at Aquariums and Zoos for there tanks? I have been to several azoos and aquariums over the last few days and noticed they all seemed to be the same. I would love to know what they use for a project I am working on.

DYMAX makes an industrial adhesive for bonding glass to glass and it is cured with a UV light.

They make small hand held UV lamps and it cures quite fast.

I have not used it but someone who welds for a living told me that "most tanks are not siliconed together".

I realize there are ones made with silicone, but If I were making sompthing large .I would look into dymax's adhesives before deciding. That way I would have compared all know ways.

To read up yourself, search google on bonding glass to glass .

RTV 108 Is the designated silicone from GE, they probably get it in bulk.

THanks I am looking it up and only seeing clear which would work. Do they use something else then for the black sealer?

plack: I am bonding acrylic to expoxy, so glass to glass bonding will not work.
