simple DIY question.

I am trying to raise my skimmer 2-3 inches. Are there any recommended material I can put in my sump to raise the skimmer? I have egg crate, but I will need quite a few layers of it to get 2-3 inches and I don't want to worry about the skimmer being on top of something unstable. thanks!

Eric, you can build a single layer table using the egg crate by zip-tying the legs in place. You just cut top to size and for the sides/legs you leave the tabs on in which to lock into top piece. If I can find pics of mine will post em up.

I built a stand for my skimmer with a piece of plexi and 1/2 pvc pipe as legs. I might have a spare piece of plexi if you need it. Tell me the measurements and I'll check my pile.

I found eggcrate and zip ties works great I did the same thing on an older tank I had.

I usually zip tie PVC legs to the egg crate. Works fine

Wanted a cleaner look built mine with a sheet of acrylic and used 3/4 inch acrylic dowels as legs. Glued on with acrylic solvent.
