I just installed an auto topoff. An ATO contoller, small aquarium pump and aqua medic kalk reactor. I installed as directed. Pump to reactor to sump, pump controlled by float switches connected to ATO unit.

Problem: when the pump shuts off, the water continues to siphon thru the reactor and doesn't shut off. Any ideas about stopping the flow after the pump shuts off???

Thanks for you help

Drill a little hole into the hose inside the tank near the top. It will spray a bit of water back into the tank while pumping, but when it turns off, it acts as a syphon break.

(idea thanks to blazer88 - Rick)

Thanks alot... I can't believe your idea didn't cross my mind. I just did that to another return I added to a small tank earlier in the evening. Then I sat there for an hour trying to figure out this problem.... Oh well. That's what is so great about these forums.

Thanks a bunch.

I used a little check valve for RO/DI tubing to stop my issue. My problem was, I had water siphoning back from the reactor into the RO/DI container.
