Skimmer help my Resun pump isn't starting up right

I have a Vertex IN-80 with a stock Resun pump. I've run this for over a year without a problem. Yesterday after a water change I flipped the switch on my DJ strip and the pump wouldn't start so I took it apart and cleanded it out. It was pretty clean still. Now it starts but if I tun it on and off a few times it won't fire up unless I take the impellar out and put it back in. Any advice? I need a reliable fix for this if at all possible since I just ordered a new skimmer and I was hoping to sell this one.

sounds like the impeller is binding up I would pull the impeller out and take a baster and rinse real good with water. same thing with me but different pump. after that worked like a champ. I just hope it is an easy fix for you.
