would appreciate some suggestions on pump choices.

these would be the small pumps attached on the side of an external skimmer, the ones that take the water from the bottom of the reaction chamber and threw it back to the middle of the chamber.

they don't have to be big, and they will not be submerged.

Thank you :)

I found the Sedra needle wheel at Premium Aquatics for my skimmer, it works well & is reasonable in price.

thanks for the suggestion.

can those pumps be used externally? like in the picture?? I'm worried since its not submerged, it might get hot and burn out???

thanks again

Well Euro Reef uses them like that & many others, so I'd guess yup! I can't find the sedra 5000 & 9000 but they have them somewheres. If I can find the information on my 9000, I'll post it up.

I used an Aquabee 2001 as the recirc pump on my previous skimmer. It was external and did not over heat. Also they are low power consumption, small compact pumps.

I found Marine Depot carries the Sedra pumps & needle wheels, all you need, check them out!
