let us know how that goes. I've seen the instructions on how to do it, just wonder how it works. Should work okay I would think.

if it leaks w/ this system, i will end up glueing it together. i am going to take pics for the whole building process:)

i am going to have to get alot more rock than i had figured.. i have about 100lbs... i am going to need that much more at least and probably then some

100lbs in your sump?

how big is this sump gonna be?

or are you still building the tank and your gonna need 100 lbs in the tank?

hi ronj,
obviously im a little late here, but i though i would impart some needle wheel wisdom for ya...:)
as far as the height of the water in the sump, you want there to be just enough water to keep the aspirating venturi submerged and not sucking air from the surface, the deeper under water the venturi is, the less air it will suck in...(through the air hose)
make sure every week you pour about a 1/2 cup of very hot fresh water down the little silicon air tube for the skimmer venturi, this will keep salt and calcium from building up in there..
it does look like they gave you some extra parts judging from your pic, it looks like you got 2 venturis, a good thing to have a spare of.
did you get it put together o.k.??

i got it put together....so you're saying i don't want the air hose to suck in alot of air or i do want it to????? should the water level be at the top of the air hose or lower towards where it connects to the pump???

also, the liverock is for my tank... i thought i was typing on my other thread about the tank, not the sump...sorry for the mix up:)

i am going to try the removable baffle system... i am going to wrap the weather seal tape around it to make the seal

I remember seeing this post, but can't seem to find it again. Do you have a link? I am thinking of adding one or two additional baffles to my sump.
