In the process of upgrading to a 125 from my 75, I have a Oct NW200 skimmer. My tank has 2 corner overflows, is it possible or advisable to use one of the overflows to feed the skimmer instead of the supplied skimmer pump? Eliminating one more power consumption source.

Don't think that would be possible. According to the specs ... "Popular design that works by a special wheel inside the skimmer pump which chops the air and water into fine micro bubbles.
Special needle wheel produces more micro bubbles which highly increases the skimming ability compared to our competitor’s models. "
Therefore it would seem to me that by removing the pump, you are removing the mechanical means that the skimmer uses to make skimmate.
