Skimmer

I recently purchased a new skimmer from a company here in Germany. It works on the "Venturi" priciple. My question is, How long will it take berfore it starts working?. Sounds a little silly but it has been running for 3 days now and no foam has been generated. I don't think my tank is completely free of unwanted materials, Any suggections or comments? The skimmer prduces bubbles in adequatr amount but no foam is sent into the collection cup.

Well, from what I understand, skimmers sometimes can take up to a week or 2 to break in. Mine took a few days...I guess it just depends on the skimmer. The best thing I can say is to keep an eye on it periodiccally just incase it kicks in and decides to pump out a ton of water and cause a flood. I wet the floor a few times with my skimmer trying to get it adjusted correctly. I wish you the best

Hi, I just recently got a new skimmer and it took a week for it to start pulling stuff from the tank. Give it a chance.
