Hi, bought a frag for mothers day, its 3" approx white with pink tips is best description. Daughter has camera now, post pics later. I just saw a small white crab in it, is this a host thing or a bad thing.:?:

Is it an acropora type coral? If so, most likely it is good... But there are bad acropora crabs. If it has hairy legs or blue legs, either remove it, or keep a very close eye. Also, watch to see if it nips on the polyps of the coral. If it does not match any of those, it's a very peaceful crab, that will happily keep your acropora clean. :D

Small white crabs often come with wild colonies. Sometimes there are 2-3 in the same colony. They are usually harmless but keep an eye out for missing tissue. If a bare area on the coral appears showing the white skeleton you may need to remove the crab.

Regards,
Kevin
