I'm guessing this is a good thing but I thought I would throw it out there. I have a 100 gal tank that has been up for around 9 months. I only started with around 20 snails of which there are maybe 3 or 4 left. Recently I have seen more and more baby snails. There are so many now that I couldn't count them if I tried. They litter the bottom and sides of the tank.

I don't remember what species I started with so I don't realy know what type they are. They little and black right now. If they keep reproducing like this I'll start a snail farm and trade them away to people.

I have the exact some thing that happened to me! Right after the lights go out, the ground is moving with them. Have fun and good luck with them growing up:)

Kewl, baby snails. I remember when my fresh water tank was taken over by snails....It was awful. When I bought snails for my salt water tank and asked if they would reproduce to become pests the lfs person laughed at me

we had something like that happen... it was so cool. the lights went out, snails came out and it was insane! only difference is that all the eggs made it down to our 80 gal sump... it was so cool. they lived off the chaeto down there. that was a long time ago tho....
