I am trying to encourage coralline algae growth in my newly set up FOWLR, and have four snails in the tank which have done a great job of cleaning up the initial nuisance algae. Will the snails work against me by doing the same thing to any coralline algae that tries to crop up, preventing its growth ?

I've never heard of snails eating coralline so you should be good. Only thing I know of that really eats it is urchins, but as far as snail go, don't think I've ever heard a case of a snail eating coralline. :)

Yea, I have never heard of snails eating coraline algae.

I have a tuxedo urchin that eats it, but in the process of eating the algae, I'm pretty sure it is aided in spredding (as it gets ground up by the urchin)

I think they won't eating coralline algae, if they do just because of other algae grow on top of the coralline algae:)
