Hey Kevin,
Say someone has direct flow on a coral, they have bleaching. The coral is stressed but not dead. I know many times people have let their tanks get too hot. This is me last night. I lost most of one colony due to excess heat. I had the fireplace too hot. The question is when should I frag or should I just leave coral in a less stressful environment and hope it will come back?

Hello Ed,
If the coral has just lost its zooxanthellae then you can leave it alone and it will likely recover. If the coral has lost tissue and continues to loose it then cut off the dead portions right away.

Regards,
Kevin
