I'd love to see some pictures of well established bb softie tank. I'm concidering a change. Ive been loosing alot of sps due to my kids cell being dropped in the tank and the battery melting down.

Thanks
Don

Sorry to hear that Don...:doubt: I hope you bounce back:)

Its all good, might be time for a change anyways. I may just go softies if I can find the inspiration. Sure would make more time for fishing and lounging in the hot tub.

Don

You're the first 21 year old I've ever heard that loves to lounge(LOL) Well, I hope you get some nice pics to motivate you:)

Clkwork's 90 BB tank, this is one of the best I've seen

I guess my question is. Would softies live in a tank designed for sps. I've got 750w of mh lights and some where around 10K gph of flow. Its a pretty darn clean tank. Would they just starve to death?

Don

well, I am not too much into softies but here is a picture of my reef when I first got it. it was mostly softies.
I also added a new picture to show how much it has changed in the last year and a half..

Thanks for looking
Matt

Hope this thread keeps getting pics. I would like to see more of the softie tanks out there (they move...lol)

No they won't, what we call clean in a tank is dirty in the reef. If you want to make sure, then skim a little on the dry side and feed a little more. Everything else keep the same.

Gabby, tank's looking nice. ;)

those are some nice softy tanks... that is what my new 125g will be...softies only:)

Hey Don i forgot to add my two cents in regards to your questions. I have a ton of flow in my tank and I think that is fine. What I dont think would work is your lights. I have always loved my T5 Tek lights, and depending on the depth of the tank I had at the time, they often were too much light for some of the softies and I would end up running only half of them. Now I have the 90 which is 24 inches, and I bought a six light unit and everything is ok with all six as long as some items (brain and rics) are shaded. I would think the softies I have would not do well under MH at all. They do fine on way less T5 I just like the looks and they are used to it now.
