I thought that I had already said yes to being one of the stops on the tank tour. If you didn't already have me down the answer is Sure! Its good timing now that all the red bugs are gone and everything is doing quite well.

It's a week from Saturday, which makes me waaaay behind and the tank tour date the 20th. I think I can manage to stay connected long enough now to actually get some work done on this POS computer, so look for the evites tomorrow.

PSAS South End Tank Tour; August 20th

Sheeesh, you guys, I'm sorry for being such a flake, but let's get on with it!. Bring your coolers because there's at least two stops for fraggage and baggage on this tour.

Our first stop will be at 10:00 AM at Cesar's (Katchupoy) place in Renton for a look at his 40 gallon tank. Small tank on its way up, a good example for those wanting a smaller tank or trying to fit an additional tank into a tight space. (You know, the "honey, just one more tank" tank :D )

fragman's in Kent

Second stop will be at Paul Hamby's (fragman). Many of you have ooh'd at ahh'd at his cube tank in the past, now you're getting another chance. You might even want to have a frag or two follow you home. ;)

Well shoot, I can't get the photo to post; so here's a link! There are other pictures in Paul's photo gallery, too.

Kensn in Auburn

Next stop is Ken's (Kensn) reef tank in Auburn. The tank is a 90 gallon acrylic with built in overflow on a homemade maple and maple plywood stand and hood. Around 100lbs of live rock and 30lbs of recycled rock from a previous tank make up the reef on top of an argonite sand base. Lighting consists of (2) 250w 6500k MH and (2) 48" atinic VHO all on Ice Cap electronic ballasts. An Allen Bradley Micologix 1000 PLC runs the show controlling the lighting, pumps, fans, feeding timer which shuts off the pumps for feeding and soon the automatic top off.

Fun Stop at LFS and Brew Pub!

There are at least three good things about visiting Todd. ;) Himself (he's a real nice guy) his tank (of course!) and the LFS - Indoor Reef - is only 10 minutes from his place. Those of you that have visited the store before know that it's a nice little set up; if you haven't visited before, now is the perfect opportunity. Indoor Reef is one of the supporters of The PSAS.

The Engine House No. 9 Pub and Brewery is right across the street from Indoor Reef. I hear they have 34 microbrews and beer on tap, (oh, and the food's good too, lol) so let's stop in, have some lunch and drink a toast to reefing fellowship.

Hope to see you all there! If you'd like to attend but aren't on the evite list, please drop a PM to bradreef or post here to get on the list for directions, map links and stop times.

:)

Two stops...the left and right side of Mojo's tank
LOL! I think Mike must be fragged out, cuz he's not on the tour this year. ;) I know he always likes to clean all of our drool off of the tank - ha! - but he's got an awful busy schedule just now so maybe next time!

Actually E9 is the one that is down the road from Indoor Reef, but not too far away. Great place for us to end the tour :D

Oops...well, you can lead the caravan, Todd. At the rate I'm going you know I'm gonna get lost. LOL

No problem Alice! Looking forward to a great tour in the south, and good food and beverages after :D

Sorry folks, I had ran late getting all the stats to the powers that be and now we seem to be having some problems with our evite system. PM's sent to the tour hosts to see if they mind if I post addresses and directions here on the forum.
