Splitting Mushroom Coral

I have a muchroom soft coral that is getting really big. The guy at the pet store says that i am to cut it down the middle, is this correct and where and how do i do it if the coral is stuck to the rock.

Mushroom gettin big is it? Well you can cut it and the pieces will grow into little mushrooms. Check out www.garf.org for pictures and detailed instructions. Propagating is an easy way to turn 1 mushroom into many quickly. I believe you can cut them just like a pizza in 6 or 3 pieces or so. You can also just let nature take its course and it will split in due time but usually only into just two pieces. If your adventurous the propagating method works well.
 
agreed... its as simple as feeding it well for months before hand... having good water quality before and after the division... and simply cut the polyp in half with a very sharp razor or scalpel.
