Would it be possible to add sponsor links to a Sticky or something like that to easily go to a sponsors web page. I spend a lot of time searching for the web sites and this would or could give sponsors sites more exposure. I had to reformat my drive for the 20th time this year and misplaced my favorites disk...

Thanks,
Jon

That wasn't what I was refering to (DT Phytoplankton). In the Forums Section each of those groups has an area. Can links be added to their section to 1) Improve web participation and 2) Make it easier for us to find their sites = Fewer dead (non-active) forum sections and increase participation to/from vendors = more profits for the site. Take a look again - That section has few interactions <30 days old.

Thanks,
Jon

I think your comment was what I was looking for - I see new companies on the site all the time and struggle to locate more info ie, website, address and phone numbers. I guess I could ask each of them when I want to research their products, but again is inconvenient and time consuming. An example would be Marine Depot - Who are they, What do they offer, Are they a local vendor or shop. I was thinking of a sticky note (if it can be done) in each of their sections with some basic contact info if the vendors are willing and if there is a way to place some info in each section. I just see more people using our site for tracking them down rather than doing an internet search each time they try to find them. I hope this makes sense. I look at it from a newcomers perspective.

Thanks,
Jon

Hmmmm

Let me think about this one for a bit. I am pretty sure that link for sponsors in the upper right of every single page is an easy way to get to all of our sponsors web sites.

Thanks for clarifying what you are asking about.

Hey Chuck,

I hadn't said anything till now, but I have a really hard time seeing the links in red. Part of this may be my color blindness : þ , but perhaps another color (the title bar blue you are using) and centering the links would make them easier to see.

I think what Jon meant is that we will have a simple page that can be made sticky. I will include a table of some sort that will show all the sponsors info in one look.

Like a column and row format... that has...

Name : Address : Phone no. : Contact Person....
It doesnt need to be really graphic but just text format.

Right now, what we have is a link to their website. And sometimes you have to do so many clicks before you can get to the info you need.

Jon, Im just guessing here....Please correct me if im wrong.

Well I spent some time and cleaned up the sponsor link at the top. For those that have banner blocking (ad blocking software) installed, they can't see the banners when clicking that link. Now there are text links straight to the sponsors site without going to through our ad banner software. That should help some. Thanks to Curt for helping me out with some validation :)

With regard to a sticky, I prefer not to have a sticky in each sponsor's forum with a list of all of the sponsors of the site. This defeats the purpose of having a forum dedicated to a particular sponsor for themselves.

What I will consider doing however is to put a link that goes directly to the sponsor's web site in each of the sponsor's forum. That thread can be stickied to the top of the respective sponsor forum.

Still doing some more thinking on this :)

Thanks Chuck,
The sponsors link now shows sponsors sites and helps a bunch (All I saw before was DT Phytoplankton). Perhaps it was the ad blocking software built into Norton that killed my viewing.

I appreciate the help (and hopefully so will the vendors),
Jon
