The potential new sponsers have not gotten back to me as of yet. I will call them by the end of the week if I have not heard back.

Is ARedSeaAquarium in shoreline going to sponsor us? I was under the impression they were since they donated to the raffle at our picnic.

ReeferMadness wants to sponsor club. I am not sure if they want a icon in PSAS.org or etc.

Here is email I got from them.

PSAS Administrator,

Reefer Madness would like to inquire into sponsorship opportunities with PSAS, and to ask if it would be possible to extend an offer to your members. We are reaching out to the reefer community in these times of high shipping costs, keeping our prices low while continuing to offer a superior product by offering benefits to both the club and its individual members. The following are the benefits offered by Reefer Madness:

Discounts - 25% off the first purchase by the club using a unique coupon code. After the first purchase, an ongoing discount of 10% - 20% for the club and its members is available based on the size of the order.

Group buys - If enough members commit to purchase an item, than we will significantly cut the price to meet the needs of your club. The more members that commit to purchase, the lower the price.

Overstock/Clearance - Clubs will have exclusive access to all overstock and clearance items at considerably reduced costs.

Club Loyalty Points - Points are accrued for purchases on qualified items. All live products on Reefermadness.us will qualify except those that are on sale. All your members need to do is reference your unique club ID in the Notes section of their order, or place the order under the “club” account, and the points will automatically accrue. Points can be redeemed for all live items on the site, including items on special.

Incoming shipment notification - As shipments arrive club members will be notified via email of any new items before they go on the site and are available to the general public.

We are known for offering the highest quality livestock and customer service in the industry and we are building on that strong tradition to reach out to your club. Please let us know if you have any feedback, questions or comments.

Thanks,

Dale Hazlett, Jess Bansal, Chad Whitney and the rest of the Reefer Madness Team

So should I reefermadness to the back of the card at 10%, it would be hard to add all of the details.

Here is another potential sponsor. We all have to talk about this as group and see if we would like to do either of these.

Ed,

Good afternoon! My name is Jasen Hicks, owner of FishyAuctions.com, an
aquarium only auction website that is starting up. FishyAuctions.com
was opened to help aquarists, both freshwater and marine, sell old
equipment, gear, and potentially livestock in an auction format
without having to pay large eBay fees or be locked into using PayPal
as the only option for online payments. Of course, this is not the
only reason it was opened. As the former President of Tidewater
Reefers Society (http://www.tidewater-reefers.org) in Virginia Beach
VA, I found that raising money for our society was a difficult
process. Sponsors usually donate goods which can lead to less than
expected funds from raffles. FishyAuctions provides a great way to
earn cash for your club!

With the FishyAuctions.com profit sharing program your club benefits
from every auction placed on FishyAuctions.com. While there are no
insertion fees when listing at FishyAuctions.com, there is a small 1%
surcharge based on the final value of the auction and minor upgrade
fees for Home Page listings, Category Features, and bolding your
items. Additionally, FishyAuctions.com earns money by targeted and
applicable advertising on the homepage. All of the profits through
these means are shared with all of the clubs that participate in this
program! 25% of all of FishyAuctions.com profits are given back to the
clubs or societies that participate in this program. Additionally, 50%
of the profit is donated to both a Freshwater Conservation Charity,
and a Marine Conservation Charity.

By simply placing a banner on your website, and filling out a form
about your club you too can participate in this amazing program to
help build interest in FishyAuctions.com!

I encourage you to take a look at our website at: http://www.fishyauctions.com
to see for your self.

I look forward to your response and hope that we can move forward with
this great partnership possibility! By helping me get the word out for
FishyAuctions.com, your club will benefit directly!

I think we should list some of the existing sponsors and tell the members to visit our website for more sponsors. This way, we can keep the list updated.

In future, we can move to Platinum and Gold sponsors and only print Platinum sponsors on our card.

Here is another potential sponsor-I received this in my e-mail.

Hello, I have a Ricordea florida aquaculture facility in Monroe Oregon. Up until now I
have strictly sold at the wholesale level but I would like to expand my business to the
retail level. Could I get a quote for becoming a business sponsor of PSAS.

thanks

Do we charge for sponsorship? How does the sponsor thing all work?

No charge for the sponsorships that i know of, just a "benefit" to our members is all that we ask.

A Red Sea Aquarium said they want to sponsor. I forwarded a copy of the e-mail to everyone but Ed (his private message storage is full)

Last week I e-mailed all of the sponsors from last years card, except for Denny's Pet World, Reef Mystique and Saltwater City as I could not find e-mail addresses for them, to make sure they wanted to continue to be shown on the card offering a discount. The e-mail to The Wild Side was returned as undeliverable.

So far the following have replied confirming they want to remain

Aquatic Dreams
Barrier Reef
Blue Sierra
Shark Reef

A Red Sea Aquarium has asked to be added to the list.

I would like to get these cards ordered by Monday so we can have them before the swap meet.

Does anybody have time to contact those sponsors I could not e-mail (in Bold above)?

Thanks,
Kris

I will check with SaltWater City as I have to go to them tomorrow.

Kris/Ed,
Bob and I are trying to organize members as well as sponsors information. I have the following sponsors information so far.

1. Aquatic Dreams
2. Barrier Reef
3. Blue Sierra
4. Denny's pet world (no email)
5. Red Sea Aqaurium (no email)
6. Saltwater City
7. Shark Reef

I am not sure if there're any other sponsors or not. If there are, please let me know and I will them to the list.

As you may know, Bob recently met with Cy @ Barrier Reef and I met with Andy @ Saltwater city. Both of these sponsors were not happy and I had to really work with Andy to convince him to give us one more try.

Part of the thing came up with Andy that he wants to let all PSAS members and non-members know about upcoming sales @ his stores and he was declined to do so in the past. I personally think this is a very fair ask given what they do for us. However, to be more fair, I want to contact all our sponsors and tell them to let us know of their sales/special events on our PSAS email address and we can post them on our website (provided they let us know 2 weeks in advance).

Secondly, in the past, membership card did not have expiration and people were bringing their old membership cards to get discount. I think this was solved in our last year design and the new cards will have it again (or we need to tell our sponsors).

They also want to post our poster on their stores and keep some membership cards with them. We need to make this happen.

I will bring this topic up in our next board meeting or next time we meet. But we need to make this happen for our sponsors and need to work out with them.

Kris,

Can you ask the printer to make 24 posters 12 x 18

Ghazni,
What would it take for all of use to have video conferencing?
This might make it easier for all parties. ( Duanes idea ) and a great one.

Bob

Let's go idea with the old conference call. Video Confrencing is too much of hassle for what it's worth for a multi people meeting.
