Sps growth rates?

What do you find to be average rate of growth for orange Monti cap and red planet corals?

well, its not exactly fair to compare these two. Also every system is different from another in chemistry and par/pur levels. From what I have experienced, orange monti can generate up to 1" or a small curl in a month --fastest grower and chemistry consumer known...lol. A red planet frag may plate its base for months before tabling its head, but once it decides to form then it can form up to 1/2" in a month. Red planet is an agressive grower and will overtake monti plate and most other SPS in addition to evassive green star pollup mats. So allow plenty of territory for it to grow out a 12" plate in about 5 years.

Orange cap grows much faster and gets much larger. They are Both fast growers for their species, the cap is not reAl aggressive to other corals, but will create copious amounts of shade.
