Stainless Steel, how bad is it?

On Maxijets etc, what kind of steal shaft is that? It seems tried tested and true.

I am also no metalurgist but I had a stainless steel knife in my reef for about 20 years that I used as a ground probe. The thing didn't corrode much in all that time and I never noticed any problem with anything else. The Iron in stainless I believe is pretty bound up and even if it were not, Iron will not cause a problem anyway. (personal experience)
