hmm im on carpet np yet, yo can kiss your padding under the capet GOOD BYE, cause its gonna be flat for ever if you move your tank,

As long as you dont get a great deal of salt water on the carpet you should have a problem......

will a leak on carpet be worse then a leak on tile..........of course.

I know some of these guys have there tank on tile just for that resone.

my next setup or move will be on either on linoleum or tile, and farther from the wall

Linolium i think might lift up on you. Your better off with either tile or a hard wood floor.

Also i will always put my tank in a basement (if i have one) Its usually cooler in most basements so it helps to control the temp in the tank better.

yep, im in the bassment right now, it never really gets hotter then 75 down here.

i have to do a great deal of controling with the humidy. I have a dehumidfier and a humidafier, my target zone is between 50 and 52% anything lower then 50 and the water evaps quick (1/4 gal night and day) over 52% 53% and it smells funny

Yeah, I am having a bit of a problem with evap but i stay on top of it and it seems to be working okay. Its a fair price to pay for a steady temp. Its a lot cheaper than a chiller!

im thinking of bying like 30 feet of that 1/4' plastic line that's in my rodi sytem puting a t right b4 the auto cut off switch in the RO, and runing the other line to another auto top off in my sump, that would almsot make my tank hands free,

its pritty eazy right now just a half of a 1/4 gal morning and night, stoped doing water changes almost shes almost self runing, exsept for the cleaning of the skimmer and feeding them every once and a while but im happy !!!

i was worried about needinga chiller at first, now that were in the hotest days of summer here in PA, im not worried at all. cause she's not going over 81 at all, (pumps are heating the tank) the heater almost doesnt run at all.

but when winter comes and the temp of the bassment is fighting to stay at 68 67, im sure its gonna be diffrenet.
