Stuck Anemone----

Our ameone is stuck in a sea shell. We tried to get it out but it just sucked back in further. Even stuck it on a rock shell side ways in hopes that it would release itself, but it just stays there.

Any suggestions?

An anenome is going to move on its own. Sometimes you can get one to release by holding it in front of a powerhead so that the flow is hitting it's foot. I haven't had great luck getting one loose without harming it so hopefully someone that has had luck will chime in. And welcome to the site.

If He wants out he'll get out...
Your gonna stress him out..
The safest way to get a anemone to move is point a power head right at him and usually they will move in a few days..

Sometimes they like to get there foot in a nice secure spot to protect it I betcha he thinks that shell is a nice safe spot

If you wanna try to get him out of it you could try shading him with something or moving the shell with him in it to a shady spot.

Thanks I'll do anything to get it out. Some of the tenticles are missing off of the anemone. Any more suggestions, please let me know!! thanks Cherae

You COULD carefully break the shell...

I would err on the side of caution, I think, although a good idea, that breaking the shell could damage the foot. As mentioned above, probably a combination of things will get him to evacuate his shell home. Putting him in a shaded spot, and pointing a powerhead at him will probably make him abonbon his shell and move to a better spot. Remember that it takes alot of patience in this hobby.

It's almost all the way out!!

Woo hoo!!! It pushed the shell to the side and it's just hanging there. I'm so glad! I can put it back in the sand where it belongs as soon as it has let it go completely.
