Ok so a calcium reactor keeps the calcium and mag levels up in the tank right?
So what does a KALK reactor do?

Do I need both on a 180 gal with a 75 gal sump?

Links on good reading? I am trying to finish the build on my tank and still trying to figure out this more advanced equipment I need. I travel a lot so automation is always welcome to minimize upkeep for my fiancee....

Thanks in advance.

I plan on keeping mostly LPS/Zoos and some clams. Some SPS will be in the system though and I would love to get some Acans.

Good read on calcium reactors. Kalk reactors sort of have the same end result as with the calcium reactor- higher calcium carbonate level in the water. they go about it in different ways. Some people use both; it really depends on your system's calcium needs. I'd start with a calcium reactor, and if it's not keeping up, you can add a Kalk reactor, or just dose kalk periodically to help it out.
