sump/fuge

ok....so i want to build a sump/fuge for my 50g reef tank. i have a basic idea of what might work.....but im very new to the hobby. i was going to use a 20g long tank with 3 sections. 1:inlet w/ live rock and skimmer 2:fuge w/ macro algae(or mud and mangrove)whats better? 3: return pump. is this a good plan?

I use 3 sections in all my sumps like you have planned. I'd skip the live rock in the skimmer section.

Id skip the mud and mangrove. Other than being a cool house plant they dont do much.
