where can i buy some acrylic or some sort of divider for my 30g that will be my sump

I just bought cheap flimsy stuff at HD. then the clear silicone and let it dry for a day. I drilled a bunch of holes in it.

so you cut out a square divider and cut holes from top to bottom? did you leave a space under or over the divider for flow, or are you just using the holes you drilled?

thanks, i think i will use that to biuld my baffles...i want them to be adjustable in case i want to move them

will my 30g be tall enough to hold the skimmer and handle the excess water from the overflows if the pump is turned off

That depends on a lot of things. Volume of water in your pipes (how long they are and what their diameter is), how full you keep your sump normally, and where the siphon breaks are where the return goes into the water on your display tank.

i may have to get someone to draw this out for me.....lol....say that i want a skimmer and a small refugium, how would i begin to make this 30g into my sump??? from what i understand, it would overflow into the sump, then straight into the skimmer, then some baffles, my refugium, some more baffles, and then back up to the display????

What are the dimensions? I could give it a shot if you like. Let me know.

On another note, Here are a few tanks made sumps you can check out.

Also, that link I posted on your tank drilling thread about, "Show your filtration systems" has some ideas as well. Then there is always

And here is a shot of how my old sump was to give you an idea of how a skimmer can be plumbed in externally, have a section for a fuge and a return chamber. I also have closeups of the baffles and step by step photos how I got my sump to this point coming from a wet dry!:)

Here's something my yellow tang drew for you to give you an idea! It's a simple sump setup that holds a skimmer and fuge like you wanted. The tang said that will cost you a pack of Nori!:p

im actually thinking of upgrading the sump to a 55g...i don't want to be scraping by with not enough space

ooppps...look under that link under "layouts and baffles"

Do you mean with the skimmer in the middle and the pros and cons of having the fuge in the center or the side? IMO, go with what works best for you. That is the best advice anyone can give:)
