sump size for 90 gallon question

I want to hear some opinions on sump size for 90 gallon tank.
The stand's dimension will be 36.5 x 24.5

As big of a sump you can fit under there.

I have a 50 breeder on my system. I'd suggest a 40 breeder or bigger.

use what ever fits your wants and needs....just doing sump/fuge or sump. if doing both make sure you can fit 2 separate tanks in there.

I think 40 breeder will be the bigget tank I can fit under the stand.

as big as you can service, not just as big as you can fit...

make sure you can work with it... better to plumb to another room...

its so much eazyer to have a sump thats not on the ground, and not under the stand... just a thought

Make sure you'll be able to fit your protein skimmer in. The hight of the skimmer above the sump is as big of a space issue as the sump fitting in the stand.

I built a custom stand that is prety high, and there is plenty of room to work on it.

I have a 30 gal DIY sump you can have for free I used it on my 90 gallon tank it works just fine. If you want to see pics just look in the for sale section.
