I have a Sunset monti that I got from another RF member and it's faded out a little since I got it about 4 weeks ago. Wondering if it's getting too much or to little light. I have 2 - 250 watt 14K Phoenix DE bulbs that are about 5 inches off the top of the water and my tank is 20 inches deep. I get really good flow (using 2 Vortech MP20's) in most every part of the tank so I don't think flow is the issue. Maybe it's just adjusting to different lighting still and I need to be patient?
So where is everyone else placing theirs?

High light and medium high flow for best color and growth. Mines grows and glows nicely in this condition. Who did you get it from? I have fragged that thing for folks on here at least 20-25 times since I got it a couple years ago.

got it from tiachimaster around the first of September. I think he is using 400 watt 20K's and it looked great and he may have metiond that he got it from you know that I think about it. I could be wrong.

Yeah I believe he got it from me. I can't remember. Peter has gotten a few things from me.

You both are wrong....:)
The monti is from tamarindthai.....and the bulbs I am using is 250watt 20k coralvues......
I would keep the monti middle of the tank with good flow. as long as your parameters are fine, then everything should be fine.....good luck with that piece.

You might have also shocked it with your light. I have 250watt 20ks...you are running 14ks....that difference alone could bleach it....just give it time and hopefully it will bounce back.

My fault Peter I couldn't remember what you got from me. In that case then it probally looks different than mines.

Ahh! Its good to see that I've left a legacy of little sunset monti in washington :) Tamarindthai got half of a frag I got shipped from California back in '05. Oh the good ole days!

It finally started to color back up over the last month or 2. Took forever! I'm starting to see a nice deep orange color come back and the polyps are getting a nice flourescent green in places. Really cool to get some history on this guy. Thanks Cwazy!
