I've avoided feeding whole clams to my fish for some time, in a larger tank it is a pain to retrieve the empty shells, they get drug under live rocks, etc. I've been feeding Nori by rubber banding it to a piece of Plexi and suspending it with fishing line,. I got the idea of trying it yesterday with a whole clam, just tied the line directly around the middle of the clam, it really worked great, the whole three dimensional thing gave more fish the opportunity to feed on it also, harder for two or three of the big guys to hover over it. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this....

Cool idea. Fish are looking very good. How big is your asfur? I noticed in this picture it has a more mature body shape than mine, so I am curious about how they compare in size.

Hi Kris, he's around 3 1/2 to 4 " long, I've never seen a mature Azfur, but they look great in the books, how long have you had yours? I've had mine about 3 months I think...

I got mine last summer (around June I think). It was around 2" when I got it and is probably around the same size as yours now. After posting above I went and looked at mine closer and it to is starting to take on a more mature look. I just really hadn't looked that closely, you know how it is when you see something everyday.

I have never seen a mature asfur except in my book, I also really liked the picture in the book which is why I asked Barrier Reef to get me one. I am looking forward to seeing it grow over time.
