hey everyone as u may already know if u vist the members showcase i have a 4 foot reef system and today a mate at work offered me another 4 foot complete system for me to start fresh with so i was thinking of a predator tank with an eel or an ocy maybe scorpian fish would like opinions please
im getting all my live rock from local ocean aswell as fine sand, its a temperate ocean so taking urchins and starfish would probly not adapet well but could go tempreate but need to look into that more how definate u need a chiller unit what the temp range is in celcius
tank you everyone looking forwad to a tank in my room instead of axolotles

About the chiller... I think the temp control is a little more accurate than celcius. Based on (close to 2 degree = 1 celius) if you have a 2 celcius flex that means you change 4 degree's. If you need to figure out a american chiller This is the only way I can explain.
for every one celcius deg there is 2 deg change
0 celcius is the freezing level = 32 deg
+1 cel = 34 deg
+2 cel = 36 deg
+3 cel = 38 deg ... ect ect ect

+20 cel = 72 deg
+21 cel = 74 deg
+22 cel = 76 deg so on and so on

now a celcius degree is not exactly 2 deg so the formula is not completely accurate but gives you a idea if you chose to go with a american model

hope this helps alittle
congrats on a new tank!!!!!!:D

i dont see why freezing would be 32deg why wouldnt u just start and zero and why if celcius is less accruate more counrtys use it? thanx for the info

all I was saying is that deg f. is a smaller scale to celcius. just temperature on a smaller scale. your one = two of ours thats all I was saying

Ive been toying with the idea of settin up a predator tank as well. Scorpion fish are fun to watch. I also like the triggers and puffers. Sounds like a fun project to me. Keep us posted!

can u keep an eel with a scorpian fish and any other corals u could keep or do u avoid them cause u already have a high bioload?
