That is a great tank. I've been told that Steve pulls his entire sandbed out and replaces it every 3 months so it doesn't ever spit out phosphates. He spent over $20G on this puppy and his tank uses $300 per month in electricity.

He also had a small worm incident LOL!!! You can see a pic of it on his website.

ya steve, thats crazy, ive seen it before though. hes the dude with the 6 foot long bristleworm, was eating all his corals. hes a smart dude as well, he faced all the lights away from the glass so algae wont grow on it. it cost his like 25000. shoulda just bought an island near tonga. probably cheaper. hope he doesnt plan on moving soon.

pretty amazing tank - it's easier to just look at his website to see the tank and construction.

here is the URL: http://www.oregonreef.com/

The thing that bothers me about reading through those threads are the 'HOW MUCH DOES IT COST'? and the 'WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?' type questions. I understand people are probably envious and all but please.....

Some times people forget thier manners. Some people just dont have any. I am just glad he shared pictures of that. I am amazed. I bet he works very hard to have what he has. I like the double redunency on his system. Steve

i was in 'awe' of all the work he did on the tank. the only thing that disappointed me and i don't really know why was the viewing window. maybe because it's a photo and not in person but it just seem so insignificant in comparison to the behind the scenes photos. behind the scenes truly amazed me.

i saw this tank in person,,and also the great hospitality of 3 of the master pieces (frag)from his tank ,,all of them still alive and growing,,thanks again steve,,and eric and paul for the great ride to oregon.,,some of the trip i just can't forget.

All I can say is wow. I envy you Dang. That is a lot of experience in that work of art.
Another site to bookmark for me.

Matt I think folks like to size up there dreams or "wanna haves someday"

This tank is incredible, It just drives me crazy thinking he has the same viewable area inside the house that my 280 has.. I wish I had a wall big enough to have gone another 2-4' wide, maaaaybe another foot deep.

What I really like about this set-up is the success of the life in it.
WAY TO GO Oregon reef.

I have also been to see Steve and trade frags. He is a great guy and was very patient letting me drool for hours on his carpet :) Everything was so clean, neat, and user friendly. I just wished I lived closer than 750 miles round trip :( He also exchanged very generous sized frags.

Regards,
Kevin

All I say is Nothing I am speechless. That tank is amazing! We nned more pics so we can set them up as our desktops!

I was at Steve's place not to long ago and it is incredible more then words can describe. But the really nice thing is that he is such a nice guy with a level head. He is not one of those guys trying to show off, rather he is level headed and lets you know that we are all in the same hobby together and just because one person has a more expensive setup it doesn't mean that it is better. If you read this Steve thanks again.

Chris
