Ok, built a custom canopy for 3ea 250W MH lamps. Canopy is 5' long with 1ea 4' T5 rigs on each side. These two bulbs are for standalone coral fluorescence display....if it were you what 2 bulbs would you go with...

250 watt DE Bulbs where few back in the day, and with the leap in LED I think the selection may even be smaller. Aqualine, and Hamilton are the 2 I used when I had a DE set up.

U can definitely tell the difference in price from Chinese knockoffs. Went ahead and bought a pheonix on eBay and will grab a Hamilton in a week or two when funds allow, and compare. Cycling tank now so it'll be a few weeks before needing light or skimmer on...

I tried the chinese knock offs. The lighting color is a little off and they don't last at all. I think i was getting a good 3 months outta them before my coral growth would begin lagging.

Okay, here's a development. I stumbled across an eight bold 4 foot lamps with two circuits. I can only effectively use seven of the eight bulbs, because it's so much wider than my tank. I just went to Dr. Foster's and Smith and ordered 3ea 48" 10K whites for one circuit. What blue combo would you recommend with the 4 remaining bulbs?
