Sounds like fun! When you move back to Florida, you need to hop over this way. I'm only about 25-30 mins away from Miami and I can take you out to see some of our reefs and let you feel some fire coral like me:p

25-30 min by boat or plane??? i have some buddies in miami that have been trying to get me down there

Jet!:D Dash 8 prop will take about 40 mins, but since you like being in the water so much and will be scuba certified, you may as well kill 2 birds with one stone and swim over:p You guys should have basically the same species of fish as we do because of the location being so close to one another as well as the climate. If we go in the boat tomorrow and we are in shallow enough water, I'll try and catch a few tangs to get some pics for you:)

no thanks.. i will fly!!!!:D that would be cool to see some pics of tangs... i think you have more of the "neat" fish down there though..i will find out when i go to some deep spots w/ the scuba insrtuctors...it will be after i move back for good..i plan on coming back in the middle of next month...how is the water down there??? it is very warm here..i was surprised how warm it was.. the only thing i don't like about the warm water is the bull sharks..they say there are lots of bulls right there at the jetties...i have seen some big sharks on the docks here..they caught a 15 or 16ft hammerhead the other day like45min from here..it was 100yds off shore..i guess it was a record for that city..it was on the news

here is a map of where i live...the small strip is where i live.. we call it the island..we live like 2 min from the island..

ok...i think i found one of the tangs that i saw while snorkeling ...here is a pic, although this one is dead i think and its color is gone or faded i guess...it looks exactly like it except for the faded colors..it has the white band around its tail.

i am not sure about the tiny orange tang that i saw..there was also a darker tang that i haven't found a pic of yet

That second pic is almost like a Surgeon fish or what we like to call surgeon fish. They graze non stop all day!

LOL...Bahamians only call that one Surgon fish though just like they have no idea what a queen trigger fish is. They know it as a Turbit!:D

ok, well there's tang police, then there is the tang FBI, tang CIA.....those guys know all the species of tangs:D

Ahh...My bad then summer trainee..eer..I mean tang police!:p I was supposed to get you some pics yesterday, but we didn't go in the boat. The water was too rough for my 9 month pregnant wife and her little cousins who need to be held on the way over :doubt: Maybe this up-comming weekend if my wife doesn't "pop" before then

Ron...I took a few pics today at Atlantis of some tangs. They really didn't come out the greatest but here they are anyways. If the weather is good tomorrow I may go in the boat and I'll see what pics I get then:)

you were supposed to take some of the tangs while you were there and run home and send them to me:D ........i just can't find any good help these days:p

you use goggles???? i just bought a bad a** mask a few days ago. i have never found a mask that fits perfect before this one..it was $80....the guy from the scuba shop is going to send it to me.....i didn't get it when i went home, then i started to worry that it would be discontinued, so i bought it over the phone
