Tangs question.

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

I have a blue, purple, red sea sailfin and a scribbled rabbit fish in my 155 with no problems. They bully of the group is the sailfin and he hips ant all of them. I still would like to add a smaller blonde naso to the bunch.

Out of curiosity, what is the length or diagonal length of the tank? Powder Blues and Blue tangs really like to stretch their legs and will quickly run out of room in a shorter tank. I don't think you'll run into compatibility issues with the fish. Just watch the Yellow tangs as they can be buttheads sometimes.

Didn't you already basically ask this question a week or so ago here? http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51370

I wouldn't recommend your mix of Tangs in anything less than a 300+. Keep in mind that Vlamingi Tangs can reach 12"-18" quite quickly.

Powder Blue and Blue Tangs can each also reach at least 12". Powder Blues most often become VERY territorial towards any other Tang.

yeah for some reason I couldn't add anything to the previous so I start a new one, what other tangs do you recommend me to add to my tank rigth now I only have a blue and yellow tang.

If you put a Powder Blue in that mix it will quickly assert itself. In my experience the Blue will be fine but the Yellow may put up a bit of a fight. Mine did but the PBT made it clear who was boss. After that it becaume pretty peaceful except for occasional spats when I'd hang nori in the tank. That would be the last tang I would add to the tank. Anything more will be too much.

ya i agree i have a yellow and blue tang with a copperband butterfly and as long as you add them at the same time and they are all aorund the same size you should be fine. id say make sure you have enough hiding places as well
