has anyone ever seen of heard of a tank 30"x18"x20"tall???
Actually thinking of switching out the 29 for a 6 inch deeper (front to back) tank..
A little easier for scapeing..
Is there such a tank or do I have to get it custom made??

Yeah there is such a tank. It is called "custom made".:badgrin:

I'd call all the local glass shops that are close to you and get quotes and ask them, just how close they can get to the actual measurement you want. Some places I've called in the past seem to think, if they are within a 1/4", they are close enough. Others will do better.
You may even be able to find starfire glass.

I've been told that Larson Glass in Puyallup is the cheapest ( best?) place to get starfire glass.

Adam I might be able to get ahold of the guy I got my glass from. I'm glad you are going glass! Acrylic is great for sumps.:)

oooo I love my 125 acrylic tank..
Sarang, tryin to start a fight LOL
Just don't have 250-300 for a new acrylic tank right now..
So I figured If I do a glass tank just to be viewed from the front only
It would be cheeper and easier to do..
So one peice of starfire would be good enough for the front glass then the rest would be normal glass??
I don't know guys,
I'm kinda torn...

I would do another acyrilic, but the money UUGGG
I could prolly do a glass for 100 or so...if I build it meself..

glass looks and lasts way better then acrylic anyway...

Treehugger,

How do you figure that a glass tank looks better than an Acrylic tank? Most people like the clarity and the look of a production tank, let alone a custom hand built tank like Adam has.
There are nightmare stories of tanks letting loose built from both materials, but I would put my money on an Acrylic tank all things being equal.

Would love some spirited banter,
Jason
