this happened to me last week. One of the PC 96w retrofit bulbs in my canopy "popped" (as in burst). I had been trying to find the source of my tanks temperature increase for almost a week.
It was alway 80.1 degrees F then bing, it started going up. I took the heater out. It was still at 84F. Ok, I was getting worried.....took out a powerhead, nada. ran lights less, slight drop in temp. then BANG! LIGHT exploded!!!! I was scared. I replaced the bulb and what do you know had to turn the heater back on. Since then steady 80.1 degrees F again.
I have just started reading about grounding lights and things and I think I need to learn more! . Is there a book or something like electrical connections for dummies? Or could someone point me to some good articles that are not too technical?
