I'm looking for suggestions for brands of test kits. I've been using AP kits, but I'm not very impressed. Especially the nitrate test. It's worthless, as it always gives me false VERY high results. I know false because I freaked out when I saw 80ppm, and took water samples to three different LFS's, whiched all tested low... around 5ppm. Maybe it is this particular kit... I don't know, but it makes me not trust AP's kits at all. What brand names do you guys recommend? I don't necessarily want super high end like La Motte. Just something reliable, and not outrageously expensive. I also need kits for dKH, Alk, calcium, iodine, and other reef minerals.

Warner Seachem, Saliflert, Yea AP & many others seem to be fine. Elos are said to be great also but the price of LaMott. I'm torn right now & have a mix but probably will go with the saliflert because they are easier for me.

Bad kits happen with every brand. When you buy a kit try it out, if its bad take it back.
