Test Kit Shelf Life

Boomer,

I am thinking about getting the ELOS brand test kits for my tank. I am wondering how long one might last me? If I test once a week is that often enough? Are there expiration dates on reagents?

by the way, I spent some time with Navy EOD types in the early 80's. When were you in?

I seem to recall that if you test once a week, they last a year (and they expire around a year.) Obviously some variability depending on your levels though for how long until the reagents are gone, since a lot of the test you keep adding drops until there is a color change.

Most ELOS test kits have a date on the box..it is usually one year...
