Well, after dismantling my 55 reef in May of last year while moving from Florida to Alabama, setting up a temporary 10g nano in the apartment while building a house, and moving into the new house and transferring from the 10g nano to a 12g Nanocube DX, I have finally started work on the new tank.

I will be setting up a 120 FOWLR off of the kitchen in the new house. Here are the specs:

Tank: 120g Perfecto (48x24x25) w/ 1 corner overflow and 2 x 1" bulkheads. I went with the Perfecto because of the dual 1" bulkheads (in lieu of 1 - 1" and 1 - 3/4" on some brands) and the single overflow (more tank room). I will be making a dual Durso tied together with an h pipe in the overflow to equalize the 2 pipes. I will be returning to the tank via 1 or 2 over the top lines (still working on design).

The tank is ordered, along with a 36" custom stand and 13" custom canopy. The stand and canopy are being made out of Alder(sp?) wood and Birch and will be detailed and stained to match the kitchen cabinets (shaker doors with Olympic "Double Espresso" stain). Lots of thanks to Steve @ Aquarium Imports in Birmingham, Alabama for the stand and canopy.

I have about 5 weeks until the stand and canopy are ready, so in the meantime I have ordered the following:

ATO: Reef Fanatic from The Filtetr Guys. I will begin encasing in pvc (per DonW) in the next week or so.

Controller: Reefkeeper 2 + pH probe form The Filter Guys.

RO/DI: Ocean Reef +2 - 6 stage from The Filter Guys.

Well, my Filter Guys order shows up tomorrow, while I will be out of town for a wedding (RonJ - I will be in Destin and would love to see your set-up if you have time Saturday morning), so no pics of anything for now, but I will begin working on the garage work bench, RO, QT, etc. next weekend and will post pics!

I will try and document as much as possible, from planning to construction to problems encountered!

By the way, kudos the The Filter Guys! As I have read on here previously they have excellent customer service!

The RO, RK2 and ATO all came in Friday! I will be working in the garage this weekend getting everything set up, including water storage tanks, and QT. I will post some pics then!

I take the cabinet door to the wood shop tomorrow for matching! Can't wait!
