Yeah, The Bahamas sucks again folks! First edition was the issue with my computer now the second edition was the airport.

We took off from Orlando, got to Nassau (Bahamas) and the radar was down so we had to turn around and head to Miami before running out of fuel! Now in case you don't know, my wife hates flying. So much so that she is in tears before we take off. Not good for her and not good for the baby. Well, we get there fuel up and the captain says we have to hurry up! The airports radar is running off of generator power and they may run out of gas! Well, we made it back safetly to say the least and I come one to meet a cute tank full of cyno!!!!!!!! So much for the good job I had been doing on the tank! I can't blame my friend though. The power must have freaked out my phosban reactor and I guess the tank has been running a week or so without it. Also, the prefilter sponge had been in there since I left and was BLACK! And the skimmers neck was clogged with junk so it stopped really pumping anything.

Well, I got some nice stuff for the tank and a new camera, but it looks like it will be a while before I post anything of my tank itself. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow:doubt: I took a few pics of the new stuff as well as the cyno, but I still have to install the software before I can post any pics.

I hope everyone is doing much better...:)

Thanks guys...I already have salt is a bucket of ro/di water with an air pump running so I can do a big water change tomorrow morning. The tank isn't as bas as I thought, but still bad. Here's a photo of the rock that has the most algae on it...

looks kind of like your light never turned off. are they on a timer? could be the colprit along with stuff getting plugged up and not working right just fuel for the fire! did you ever put anything into your sump?? glad your back!!!!! but I think you need some rain in your life. come up here for a bit lol.

ohh dood ... i was expecting something funny :(.
I'm really sorry to hear you got cyano, but i'm sure it'll go away now that you are there.
I can't believe what you went throught at the airport, Cristina is a brave girl though because if i was her, i'd have freaked out and gotten out of the airplane even if they didn't want me to.
Well dood just get ready to get wet tomorrow :) .

dood you got quite some stuff in there.
by the way, are you sure your maid didn't dump anything in your tank :D .
if you have a timer you should check it because mine doesn't work that good anymore, sometimes it does turn off the lights and sometimes it doesn't :doubt:

Thanks Gabbs and diablo...Yeah, my lights are working fine on the timers. Infact when I got home, my photo period was finished and the lights were off. I had to turn them back on to see what was going on in there. I'm sure it was a combo of the skimmer not being cleaned or emptied at all for a week, the pre-filter sponge sitting in there without being cleaned or changed in a week, and the phosban reactor not running. Not to mention how much food may have been fed...

It will go away...no worries.

BTW Welcome back Krish!!! Sorry to hear the traveling was so rough.

Cyanobacteria populations can expand very rapidly. They can also shrink rapidly. Don't worry about it.

Thanks Curt (twice) LOL. Yeah the cyno isn't so bad...Just a few rocks at the very top of the tank. I just never let that happen in the first place, but glad it isn't too bad. I'll get rid of them in no-time. I can't see in my sump though. The fuge section with the light is loaded! I will siphon all of that out tomorrow as well. I'll be back to normal tomorrow I'm sure. I've got plenty of salt, plenty of ro/di water at my disposal and OCD! That will get err done!

yeah,...cyano sucks,... yeah,... only on mondays,...yeah.

LOL...Cyno's gone! Got rid of it all! Tank just has to clear up now from the water change etc. Rocks look awesome though

lol that's good :) AND you are still gonna add the purple up ... :D .
you'll be all purple in 2 months from now if you keep it up.

snails go shopping

Get your shorts on and hit the beach during the low tide and get yourself some more snails! Krish get at least one for every gallon ;)

Thanks Jeff! I've got a few in there, but they seem to like the little holes in the rocks better. Never had this happen before, but nonetheless, it is all gone. I only had to clean off 5 rocks at the top. Tank looks real healthy now...I'm just waiting to post some pictures when I get the Tunze's set up and everything...Soon though!
