why does color change(their black lines turn white) occurs when they are in a school, have this happen to you ron:confused:

yep!! i have noticed it on 2 of my hippos..it happened each time i added a fish to the display...the fish that were already in the tank changed colors....i think it is stress related

The color change of lack of color is normal, these are awesome fish, very hardy but clumsy. In a 125 I fear when they get bigger they will eventually have issues with each other, I'm sure it will take time but they do grow fast.

If they grow fast then mine is a dwarf. I have had him for 4yrs and he is only 4.5" long. I wish he would get a little bigger.

i had thought about that Scooter...i will just have to get a 240g:badgrin: the yellowbelly is about 4-6" already...one of my other hippos is about 3-4"..the other two are smaller

why bother with that when you can get Brian's tank :D .... a 500 something gals would be awesome for you since you like tangs to much :p .... just think about how many tangs you could put in there  .

i think it's awesome they're swimming all together ... a few months back i wanted to have a school of clowns ( no dood no.... i wasn't talking about Brian, Krish and you  ) but i can't let go off my six line and damsel, so i gave up on the idea.
i Can't wait to see them bigger :D !!!

They are awsome! I wonder do they have a leader of the school like dogs have a leader of the pack?
