Got this in an email today and found it really cool.

Read before opening link below

Family on vacation in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wife and their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband is in the navy and has had some scuba experience. His son wanted a picture of his mom and dad in all their gear so he got the under water camera ready to go. When it came to taking the picture the dad realized that the son looked like he was panicking as he took it and gave the 'OK' hand sign to see if he was all right.

The son took the picture and swam to the surface and back to the boat as quick as he could so the mom and dad followed to see if he was OK. When they got back to him he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely panicking. When the parents asked why, he said 'there was a shark behind you.' The dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true but they wouldn't believe him. As soon as they got back to the hotel they loaded the picture onto the laptop and this is what they saw.

Would you have stayed to take the picture??

They said that what may have saved them was that the shark wasn't hungry, they were in the water not on the surface, and they were showing no fear--only because they were not aware of the danger they were in.

It's probably best that the kid didn't point for them to look at what was behind them!

The shark is too large and too close for non-aggression and taking a picture would have been the son's and skipper's last concern. Photoshop urban legend

Wow that is just crazy!!! Is that a great white? I think I would've crapped in my pants or wet suit if I knew.

omg !! that is insane dood  ,i agree with roscoe... i'd have pee pee my pants in no time :p  ...even if i was the one that was taking the picture  ...that's one monster white shark and chunky too :lol:.

I have dived amongst smaller sharks, they do not like to get very close.
The times sharks do, is when curious if you look or smell like food and that is quite rare.
Big sharks like the one pictures EXTREMELY rare these days. Due to massive over fishing mostly just for fins and to a lesser degree for sport.

If something looks too good (or too bad) to be true...

Krish, I'm really surprised with your experience with the ocean that you'd believe that photo shop and even post this..........Stuarts Cove in the Bahamas does shark feeds all the time.

Sharks are so timid and safe to swim with, honestly. Ever since the FICTION movie Jaws they've been hated by mass populas, unwarrently so.

Yes there are shark attacks, average of only 50-60 a year world wide I believe. I think thousands die from mosquito bites and malaria.......

oh well, they make news.......but meanwhile, I'll dive with them anytime and no cages needed. Great whites are my limit, I don't think I could do those, something honestly too evil about them, but I've dove with 15 foot bull sharks, 10-12 foot reef sharks, and numerous other species with up to 15-20 sharks circling us at one time without a cage. I'd try a great white in a cage, but not open water.

he heh, yeah, it's a blast diving with them. Here's a bunch of my shark dive photos, the big bull shark and the one with meat in it's mouth after getting hand fed in Fiji, the other close ups and mass sharks were in Roatan Honduras. I like the close up of the eye of the shark peering at me in Roatan. He's asking himself if I taste like chicken? :D
