I'd imagine if they come across one they would. Mine seems to peck at any lil pods it finds.

I add a bottle every so often to the tank. The tigger pods do come to rest on the rocks and glass and the mandarin takes it from there :)

Tisbe pods are better to stock your tank. AlgaGen Reefpods is a good brand.
Tiger pods are a cold water pod and does not breed or survive in our warm water tanks. It doesnt hurt to use them but they are not a long term food.

Do you know how to get these? I have good luck with the tigger pods but like you said it is a short term thing. But they are all that I have found at the LFS.

Marine depot i think. Live aquaria too. You can order them from AlgaGen too, I'm sure. http://www.algagen.com/prod/?cat=16
Possibly some of our sponsors. I believe Barrier Reef stocke them. I'm sure they would ship them too.

So where can we buy these pods. Just wondering, because I went to the website and could not figure out how to order.

I've purchased Pods from Reefs2Go and was very pleased with them. They all arrived live and kicking. A wide variety of sizes and mixture of types.

I'm not finding where they are strictly cold water. Nor have I ever read nor heard that they do not breed in our tanks. Actually I've read the exact opposite! My refugium and DT has had a rather large population of them for at least a year. I've always seen them swimming and was more curious if my Scooter would be able to catch them :) Yes I'm positive they are T. californicus :)

You know I have been looking around, and although I have had it comfirmed by a few "knowledgeable" people that they were cold water and did not reproduce well, I have found statements that it is a myth and they do breed well and can thrive in our tanks. Just like anything else, as long as they are fed right.

SO! I will recant my earlier statement.

Oh and Reefs2go is a great place to get pods.
